Your selfie stays on your device
The color analysis and the makeup try-on run on your device. Your selfie is never uploaded.
Legal
Tonalia finds your colors, your makeup and your outfits from one selfie. We built it so that your face never leaves your device. This policy explains, in plain words, what the app stores, what reaches our servers, who helps us run it and how you can delete everything.

The app creates an anonymous account. Signing in with Apple is optional and we don’t ask Apple for your name or email.
No advertising, no tracking across apps, no data brokers. Only anonymous usage statistics. We never sell or share your data for ads.
Profile › Delete account and data erases your account and everything linked to it.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Tonalia app for iPhone and iPad (the “App”), developed by Jesús Cruz Suárez (“we”, “us”), who is responsible for the processing of your personal data. If you have any question or request about your data, write to cruzsuarezjesus@hotmail.com.
By using the App you acknowledge that your information is handled as described here. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.
The most personal parts of Tonalia work entirely on your device. We never receive them:
The App asks for permission before using the camera, your photo library or notifications. You can change these permissions at any time in Settings › Tonalia.
This section explains everything the App does with your face. Here, “face data” means your selfie and everything the App measures from it.
What face data the App uses
When you photograph a garment, the App also detects any face in that photo only to cut the person out, so that only the garment is kept.
What we use it for: only to find your colors, show colors and makeup on your own photo, and give you tips for your face shape. We don’t use face data to recognize or identify you, we don’t create a faceprint or any biometric template, we don’t use Face ID or face tracking, and we never use face data for advertising, marketing, tracking or to train AI models. We never sell it.
Where it is stored and for how long
Who it is shared with: your selfie, your face points and your color measurements are never shared with anyone, including AI services. Supabase stores the results listed above as our service provider. Only with Premium, when you ask “Ask Tonalia” a question, your undertone, contrast and face-shape label are sent as words, together with your season, to OpenRouter and Google’s Gemini to write the answer, without your account ID (see How the AI features work).
How to delete it: Retake analysis replaces your selfie. Profile › Delete account and data deletes your selfie and color measurements from your device and your results from our servers immediately. Uninstalling the App deletes all face data on your device.
When you first open the App, it creates an anonymous account identified by a random ID. We don’t ask for your name, email or phone number.
You can optionally save your account with Sign in with Apple to recover it on another device. We don’t request your name or email from Apple; Apple only gives us a stable identifier that is unique to Tonalia.
Only the following information reaches our servers, linked to your anonymous account ID:
We don’t collect your precise location, contacts, health data, browsing history or any data from other apps.
Some Premium features use artificial intelligence: classifying the clothes you add to your closet, recognizing the makeup you scan, creating outfits and answering your style questions. For these, our server sends to an AI model only what that feature needs:
Your selfie, your face points and the colors measured on your face are never sent to an AI service. The requests go through OpenRouter, which forwards them to the model provider (currently Google’s Gemini). They process the content to return the answer under their own terms. We don’t send your account ID, name or email with these requests, and we don’t use your data to train AI models.
We tell you before you subscribe. The subscription screen says, next to the button, that Premium uses third-party AI and that your selfie stays on your device. The providers are named above and in the Terms of Use. Content is sent only when you use one of these features, such as adding clothes to your closet or scanning a product with Premium, creating outfits or asking a question. If you don’t want it sent, don’t use those features; your palette, makeup and analysis keep working on your device.
AI answers can be imperfect. Color and style recommendations are a guide, not a professional or medical opinion.
We share data only with the service providers we need to run Tonalia. They process it on our behalf, under contracts and privacy commitments that protect it:
Some illustrations in the App are generated in advance with an image service; no personal data is used for them.
We don’t sell your personal data, we don’t share it for advertising and we don’t transfer it to data brokers. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Tonalia has no advertising and no advertising or tracking SDKs. The only analytics are the anonymous usage statistics described above, which stay with us. We don’t track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, and we don’t link your data with third-party data for advertising. For this reason the App doesn’t show Apple’s “Allow tracking” prompt.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or a place with similar laws, we process your data on these bases:
We keep your data while your account exists. You can erase it yourself at any time:
Deleted data may remain for a short time in our providers’ encrypted backups until they are overwritten. Purchase records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat as required by law. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription: cancel it in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
You can also ask us to delete your data by writing to cruzsuarezjesus@hotmail.com.
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a portable copy, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw your consent. Residents of California and other U.S. states have the right to know, delete and correct their data, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We don’t sell or share personal information as those laws define it.
To exercise any right, write to cruzsuarezjesus@hotmail.com. Because your account is anonymous, we may ask you to also send your request from the App (Profile › Help us improve), so we can find the data linked to your account. We’ll answer within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access rules that only let your account read and write its own data, private file storage, and server-only keys that never ship in the App. On your device, your selfie and data are stored with iOS data protection. No system is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to collect as little as possible.
Our providers may process data on servers in countries other than yours, such as the United States. When that happens, we rely on the safeguards they offer, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, so your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.
Tonalia is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from them. If you are under the age required in your country to consent to the processing of your data, use the App only with the permission of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to cruzsuarezjesus@hotmail.com and we will delete it.
If we change how the App handles your data, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date. If the changes are significant, we’ll let you know in the App before they take effect.
For any question about this policy or your data: cruzsuarezjesus@hotmail.com. You can also send us feedback from the App: Profile › Help us improve.
