A guide, not a verdict

Color, makeup and style recommendations are suggestions to help you choose.

Your privacy first

Your selfie never leaves your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.

1. Agreement

Tonalia (the “App”) is developed by Jesús Cruz Suárez. Your use of the App is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) and by these additional terms. If there is a conflict, Apple’s EULA prevails. By downloading or using the App you accept them.

How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

2. Subscriptions and free trials

Tonalia is free to download. Some features (such as your full palette, outfits from your closet, every makeup style and “Ask Tonalia”) require Tonalia Premium, an auto-renewing subscription. The plans, their length and their price are shown in the App before you buy, in your local currency.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
  • The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • If a plan includes a free trial, you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or from the App: Profile › Manage subscription. Canceling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • If you reinstall the App or change devices, use Restore purchases in your profile.

3. About the recommendations

The App estimates your season, colors, face shape and makeup from a photo, and some features use artificial intelligence. Results depend on the light, the camera and the photo, and may not be exact. Recommendations are a guide for personal style; they are not professional, medical or dermatological advice. Makeup try-ons are a simulation and real products may look different on you.

4. Acceptable use

Use the App only for your personal, non-commercial use. Don’t upload photos of other people without their permission, content that is illegal or offensive, or content you don’t have the right to use. Don’t try to access other users’ data, reverse engineer the service, get around usage limits or interfere with its operation. We may limit or suspend access when these terms are broken.

AI features have fair-use limits so the service stays available for everyone. The App shows when you reach them.

5. AI features

Some Premium features (classifying your clothes, recognizing your makeup, creating outfits and the stylist) use artificial intelligence from third parties: OpenRouter and Google’s Gemini model. When you use them, we send only what that feature needs: photos of your garments or makeup products, a text description of your season, style, closet and makeup bag, and your questions. Your selfie is never sent. By subscribing and using these features you agree to this processing, described in detail in the Privacy Policy. If you don’t want it, don’t use those features; the rest of the App keeps working on your device.

You choose what you photograph and send. These features are meant for photos of clothes. The App cuts out the garment on your device, but you are responsible for the photos and questions you send: don’t include other people, documents or personal or sensitive information. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for content you choose to send, or for answers from the AI, which may be wrong or incomplete.

6. Your content

Your photos and content belong to you. You give us only the permission we need to store and process them to provide the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete them at any time from the App.

The App, its design, palettes, texts and illustrations belong to Jesús Cruz Suárez and are protected by intellectual property laws.

7. Availability and liability

We work to keep Tonalia available and accurate, but the App is provided “as is”. Features may change, and some depend on internet services that can occasionally fail. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or for decisions made based on the recommendations. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the App changes. We’ll publish the new version on this page with its date, and let you know in the App if the changes are important.
